During the inspiring International Workshop on OsteoArthritis Imaging in Marrakech, we were able to present ongoing research within the World COACH consortium.
Myrthe van den Berg presented her work on hip morphology-based risk prediction models for incident radiographic hip OA within 4-8 years. This abstract was awarded one of the top 5 abstracts accepted for an oral presentation.
Aligned with the theme of “Structure and Pain: Where are we today?”, Fleur Boel & Myrthe van den Berg presented the first results of our efforts in analyzing hip pain data from multiple World COACH cohorts: The first abstract, presented by Fleur, describes the findings of whether hip pain is an effect-modifier for the association between hip morphology and the development of incident radiographic hip OA within 4-8 years. The second abstract, presented by Myrthe, describes whether there are differences in automatically determined minimal hip joint space width if hip pain and/or radiographic hip OA is present.
Additionally, Nadine Hendriks pitched her work on determining the center of rotation of the hip based on the femoral head versus the acetabulum during the poster session.
